WHEREAS, the Department of Health and Community Wellness provides medical care services pursuant to and consistent with the Health Care Program Statutes, Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 254b), Health Center Program Regulations (42 CFR 51c and 42 CFR 56.201-56.604), and Grant Regulations (45 CFR 75); and

WHEREAS, Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey has made grant funds available to improve screening rates and health outcomes for colorectal cancer; and

WHEREAS, on April 5, 2018, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of the Department of Health and Community Wellness (DHCW) submitted a proposal to Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey requesting grant funding in the amount of $123,500.00 from the ScreenNJ program to improve screening rates and health outcomes for colorectal cancer; and

WHEREAS, as a result of this proposal, the City of Newark has been awarded a grant in the amount of $157,459.61 from Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey to improve screening rates and health outcomes for colorectal cancer for the ...
