WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in the Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of One Hundred Sixty-Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty-One Dollars and Zero Cents ($168,851.00), for Sexually Transmitted Disease Services (STD) Program, and no adequate provision has been made in the 2026 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose, and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by the Notice of letter dated July 09, 2026, the State of New Jersey Department of Health, Division of HIV, STD and TB Services awarded the City of Newark funds in the amount of One Hundred Sixty-Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty-One Dollars and Zero Cents ($168,851.00). The aforementioned program will provide funds for the continued provision of medical care and supportive services to the City of Newark; and
