WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $1,219,279.00 for the SUNUP Food Service Program, and no adequate provision has been made in the 2024 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose, and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the same; and
WHEREAS, by the award letter dated March 15, 2024, the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, Division of Food and Nutrition, Summer Food Program has awarded the City of Newark the SUNUP Food Service Grant in the amount of $1,219,279.00.
