WHEREAS, the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a national system of volunteers who are locally organized to improve community health and safety; and
WHEREAS, the National Association of County and City Health Officials (hereinafter, "NACCHO") received a grant from the Federal Department of Health and Human Services' Office of the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response to build the capacity of local MRC units (a copy of the Grant Agreement attached and made a part hereof); and
