WHEREAS, the City of Newark (the "City") advertised a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Auditing Services for Parking Taxes and received only one (1) proposal on February 27, 2020 from Samuel Klein and Company, 550 Broad Street, 11th Floor, Newark, New Jersey 07102; and
WHEREAS, the City re-advertised a RFP for Auditing Services for Parking Taxes and received only one (1) proposal on June 10, 2020 from Samuel Klein and Company, 550 Broad Street, 11th Floor, Newark, New Jersey 07102, was found to be in the best interest of the City of Newark to accept; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into a Professional Services Contract with Samuel Klein and Company, 550 Broad Street, 11th Floor, Newark, New Jersey 07102, to provide auditing services for the City of Newark, Department of Finance, in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Twenty-Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($222,500.00) for a one (1) year period from the date of adoption; and
WHEREAS, the Local Public Contracts Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq.), requires that notice of the award of contracts for "Professional Services" without public bidding must be published in a local newspaper; and
