WHEREAS, the City of Newark's ("City") Department of Public Safety, Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security and Preparedness Division (OEM) works to prevent, protect against, respond to and recover from acts of terrorism, natural disasters and other catastrophic events and emergencies; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency ("FEMA") established the Emergency Management Performance Grant, which the State of New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, Office of the Attorney General was granted; and
WHEREAS, on May 22, 2023, on behalf of the City, the Coordinator of the Office of Emergency Management submitted an application to the State of New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, Office of the Attorney General for the Emergency Management Agency Assistance Sub-Award Program for FY2023; and
