WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service to the residents of Newark while also bringing attention and awareness to an issue that effects all segments of the society; and
WHEREAS, the Restoring Love on Schuyler Avenue Block Party will enrich the community by giving our area an opportunity to get to meet and network with the neighbors and youngsters that we rarely see and know while sharing new ideas for our neighborhood in cleanliness and safety; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Restoring Love on Schuyler Avenue Block Party, being held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 10:00 PM, on Schuyler Avenue between Eckert Avenue and Renner Avenue, Newark, New Jersey 07112.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Restoring Love on Schuyler Avenue Block Party, being held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 10:00 PM, on Schuyler Avenue between Eckert Avenue and Renner Avenue, Newark. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee ($100.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq....
