AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 2, ADMINISTRATION, CHAPTER 12, DEPARTMENT OF RECREATION, CULTURAL AFFAIRS AND SENIOR SERVICES, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY ESTABLISHING SECTION 1.6, EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council on behalf of the City of Newark wishes to increase safety measures for Newark residents and members of the public utilizing the City's recreational facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to establish a required Emergency Action Plan to ensure all sports organizations are ready and equipped in the event of an emergency; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council finds and declares the following amendments to the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, are deemed necessary for the safety of residents within the City of Newark.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

SECTION 1. Title II, Administration, Chapter 12, Department of Recreation Cultural Affairs and Senior Services, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, is amended and supplemented, to read as follows:

All youth and adults sports organizations seeking authorization to utilize any fields in the City of Newark must submit an Emergency Action Plan. All Emergency Action Plans that are required for City of Newark's fields must be submitted to the City of Newark's Department of Recreation, Cultural Affairs and Senior Services, Division of Recreation.
