This Resolution authorizes the City of Newark to apply for grant funding for $1,778,323.00 and to accept any lesser and greater amount from the NJDOT Local Aid Infrastructure Program, with no municipal funds required.

WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation ("NJDOT") through the Local Aid Infrastructure Fund ("LAIF") provides grant funding for the construction of new bikeways; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark (the "City") desires to obtain funding from the 2025 LAIF to construct a bikeway on Mulberry Street form Center Street to Edison Place; and
WHEREAS, the Acting Director of the Department of Engineering submitted an electronic grant application on or about June 24, 2025 to NJDOT, on behalf of the City of Newark, requesting grant funding in the amount of One Million Seven Hundred Seventy Eight Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Three Dollars and Zero Cents ($1,778,323.00), from the New Jersey Department of Transportation's 2025 LAIF, to construct a new bikeway along Mulberry Street, with no City funds required; and
