WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) created a 2023 Clean Fleet Electric Vehicles Incentive Program for Municipalities in New Jersey to support the purchase of eligible Battery Electric Vehicles ("BEV"), Level-Two Electric Vehicle ("EV") Charging equipment, and Direct Current Fast Chargers ("DCFCs") for fleet charging; and

WHEREAS, the 2023 Clean Fleet Electrical Vehicle Incentive Program, primary goal of this grant is to improve New Jersey's air quality for a better environment for all residents and to assist Local and State Government entities in transitioning to electrically-powered fleets; and

WHEREAS, the City of Newark desires to further the public interest by obtaining funding from the NJBPU for the City of Newark transition to electrically powered fleet in order to improve New Jersey air quality for current and future generations; and

WHEREAS, on May 31, 2023, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of the Department of Water and Sewer Utilities submitted an application to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities requesting grant funding for five (5) vehicles, a "networked" charger capable of collecting data, three (3) DC...
