The City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee ($50.00) for street closure will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances an establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, the Keer Avenue Summer Block Party will provide the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups and organizations, with the families and friends that reside within the City and its communities; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Keer Avenue Summer Block Party, to be held on Keer Avenue between Hobson Street and Leslie Street (South Ward), from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Keer Avenue Summer Block Party, to be held on Keer Avenue between Hobson Street and Leslie Street (South Ward), from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
