This resolution further ratifies and authorizes the Director of the Department of Public Works to submit a letter to the NJDEP requesting an extension of time to expend the above grant funds from the NJDEP until December 31, 2022.

WHEREAS, the Clean Communities Program Act, N.J.S.A. 13:1E-213, et seq. (the "Act"), established a Clean Communities Program Fund administered by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection ("NJDEP"), from which grants may be made to municipalities in order to encourage increased anti-litter campaigns; and

WHEREAS, the City of Newark (the "City") is eligible, without application, to receive an annual grant under the Act to create or to supplement an existing litter reduction program within the Municipality; and

WHEREAS, the City desires to further the public interest by obtaining funding from the Clean Communities Program Fund with the intent of the Act to use the grants to develop new Municipal anti-litter programs and to continue and expand existing programs; and
