WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation ("NJDOT") FY 2024 Transit Village Grant Program provides municipalities with grant funding for transportation improvements; and
WHEREAS, on July 01, 2023, on behalf of the City of Newark ("City"), the Acting Director of the Department of Engineering ("Director") submitted an application to NJDOT requesting grant funding from the NJDOT FY 2024 Transit Village Grant Program for construction of the Newark Transit Village Pedestrian Safety Improvement Project ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, on July 11, 2023, the Municipal Council adopted Resolution 7R3-c(s) ratifying said application and authorizing the acceptance, receipt and expenditure of said grant funding; and
WHEREAS, on November 30, 2023, NJDOT announced that the City was selected to receive a grant award in the amount of Five Hundred Sixteen Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($516,000.00) for...
