WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $352,200.00 for the Immunization Program and no adequate provision has been made in the 2021 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose, and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and

WHEREAS, by the authorizing Resolution 7R5-b, adopted on September 2, 2020, the City of Newark accepted and inserted a partial award for the Immunization Program in the amount of $167,800.00 to reduce and eliminate the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases affecting children, adolescents and adults through immunization; and

WHEREAS, by grant agreement dated November 23, 2020, the State of New Jersey Department of Health has awarded the City of Newark additional funds for the Immunization Program in the amount of $352,200.00 bringing total program resources to $520,000.00; and
