Whereas, immigrants from Ecuador have become an integral part of Newark’s economic success,
Whereas, the Newark Municipal Council would like to commemorate the hard work and contributions of immigrants from the Country of Ecuador by renaming the intersection of Broad Street and Gillette Place in their honor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY,THAT it does hereby authorize the renaming of the corner of Broad Street and Gillette Place to Ecuador Plaza for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
1. Naming of the corner of Broad Street and Gillette Place for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
2. The names of said streets shall remain Broad Street and Gillette Place in their entirety.
