In furtherance of the efforts by the Department of Health and Community Wellness to receive national accreditation, this resolution would authorize the Department receive funds from the New Jersey Department of Health, Division of Local Health begin the Accreditation process.

WHEREAS, the Director (“Director”) of the City’s Department of Health and Community Wellness (“Department”) desires to have the Department seek voluntary national accreditation by the Public Health Accreditation Board in order to advance the quality and performance of services provided by the Department to residents of the City of Newark (“City”); and
WHEREAS, the accreditation process will advance the quality and performance of services provided by the Department by identifying strengths and areas for improvement, strengthening partnerships and relationships with local community stockholders, improving accountability to local community stockholders, and acting as a stimulus for continuous quality improvement and performance management;...
