AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:5-1, PARKING PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY REPLACING CORTLAND STREET WITH CORTLAND PLACE IN THE ORDINANCE, TO CORRECT STREET NAME ERROR. (EAST WARD)

WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering desires to revise Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, by replacing Cortland Street with Cortland Place to correct street name error, in the East Ward.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:

Section 1.  That Section 23:5-1, Parking Prohibited at all Times, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, be amended and supplemented by correcting the following street name error:

 

Cortland Street, both sides, from Ferry Street to Horatio Street

 

Cortland Place, both sides, from Ferry Street to Horatio Street

 

Section 2.    Regulatory signs shall be erected and maintained by the City of Newark.

 

Section 3.  Any ordinance or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Section 4.  This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.

 

Section 5.  This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.

 

STATEMENT

 

This ordinance amends Section 23:5-1, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, Parking Prohibited at all Times to replace Cortland Street with Cortland Place to correct street name error, in the East Ward.
