WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances and establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, the Annual Day of Prayer - Acclamation Day, is an event that has been taking place over 25 years and has been organized by the Hispanic Reverends Association of New Jersey in collaboration with Council Member Luis A. Quintana and La Primera Iglesias Palabra Verdadera (First Church True Word); and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Annual Day of Pray - Acclamation Day event being held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 920 Mayor Kenneth Gibson Blvd., from the hours of 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Annual Day of Pray - Acclamation Day event being held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 920 Mayor Kenneth Gibson Blvd., from the hours of 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and there are no fees to waive for the City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application, does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
