AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:5-14e, PARKING BY PERMIT ONLY IN DESIGNATED RESIDENTIAL AREAS, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY ADDING MT. PROSPECT AVENUE, BETWEEN HELLER PARKWAY AND VERONA AVENUE, TO THE EXISTING PERMIT PARKING AREAS DESIGNATED LIST.

WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering wishes to improve parking for residents by creating Residential Permit Parking along Mt. Prospect Avenue, between Heller Parkway and Verona Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:5-14e, Parking by Permit Only in Designated Residential Areas, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, be amended and supplemented by adding thereto the following:
Mt. Prospect Avenue, Both sides, between Heller Parkway and Verona Avenue
(Hours: 24 hours a day: Monday-Sunday)
Section 2. Regulatory signs shall be erected and maintained by the City of Newark.
Section 3. Any ordinance or parts thereof inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication and in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.
Section 5. This ordinance does not require approval by the Commissioner of Transportation.
STATEMENT:
This ordinance allows Parking by Permit Only on Mt. Prospect Avenue, between Heller Parkway and Verona Avenue.
