WHEREAS, the Department of Child and Family Well-Being/WIC Program, provides nutritional services, nutritional education, immunization screening and education, voter registration, and family care enrollment through the participation in Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Program; and
WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, has made grant funds available for the provision of a Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program in the City of Newark; and
WHEREAS, on August 16, 2013, on behalf of the City of Newark, the Director of the Department of Child and Family Well-Being submitted an application to the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, requesting grant funding in the amount of One Million, Six Hundred Twenty-Seven Thousand, Nine Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($1,627,900.00), for the provision of Supplemental Nutrition Services...
