The City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee ($50.00) for street closure will be waived.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances an establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, Giving One Tenth Community Garden Event/Block Party provides the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups and organizations, families and friends that reside in the community by sharing games, food, and health screening; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Giving One Tenth Community Garden Event/Block Party, which will be held on South 20th Street between Springfield Avenue and 19th Avenue (South Ward), on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from the hours of 11:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Giving One Tenth Community Garden Event/Block Party, will be held on South 20th Street between Springfield Avenue and 19th Avenue, on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance covera...
