WHEREAS, the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, Inc. (NJTPA), One Newark Center, 17th Floor, Newark, New Jersey 07102 and New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), provide grant funds for various transportation related projects from the Sub-Regional Transportation Planning Program to support transportation planning work that identifies and addresses regional-level transportation needs for the local communities located within their planning area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark has a need for said funding for the FY2017 Sub-Regional Transportation Planning Program for the City of Newark; and
