WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in the Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of Seven Hundred Twenty-Seven Thousand Eighty-Seven Dollars and Zero Cents ($727,087.00) for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Program, and no adequate provision has been made in the 2026 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose, and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by the Notice letter dated July 31, 2026, the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), awarded the City of Newark funds in the amount of Seven Hundred Twenty-Seven Thousand Eighty-Seven Dollars and Zero Cents ($727,087.00) for the aforementioned program which will provide funding to carry out the City of Newark’s Community Crisis Response Partnership Project and supportive services to the residents of the City of...
