WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $8,745.00, for the 350th Celebration Historic Tours of Newark and no adequate provision has been made in the 2016 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution 7R9-a dated January 20, 2016, the City of Newark accepted the State of New Jersey Historical Commission grant for the 350th Celebration Historic Tours of Newark in the amount of $8,745.00 to enter and execute any necessary documents for the 350th Celebration Historic Tours of Newark and expend the Grant award and in-kind match of $4,485.00 for the period commencing September 14, 2015 through August 1, 2016; and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides that the Governing Body by a two-thirds vote may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose for which appropriations may lawfully be made for the period between the beginning of the current fiscal year and the date of the adoption of the budget for said y...
