WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council desires to support the Dominican Pride Day at Duarte Plaza, 316-334 First Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support for this wholesome event that will benefit Newark residents, by supporting the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement by the City of Newark, Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of Centro Americano of New Jersey, Inc., 11 Martha Court, Newark, New Jersey 07103.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Newark Municipal Council supports the issuance of a Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement, drawn by the City of Newark, Insurance Fund Commission, for the benefit of the Centro Americano of New Jersey, Inc., 11 Martha Court, Newark, New Jersey 07103, for any claims arising out of the City of Newark's use of the Duarte Plaza, 316-334 First Street, Newark, New Jersey 07107, for the Dominican Pride Day on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM.
2. The City Clerk, on behalf of the Municipal Council, shall forward a true copy of the Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement to Centro Americano of New Jersey, Inc., 11 Martha Court, Newark, New Jersey 07103, for their records.
