WHEREAS, the City of Newark ("City") utilized the legal services of White and Co Attorneys and Counselor, LLC to handle litigation matters on behalf of the City;
WHEREAS, White and Co Attorneys and Counselor, LLC has provided legal services for May, part of June, and August through December 2025, for which payment remains outstanding; and
WHEREAS, a settlement agreement has been reached to resolve this matter in its entirety by payment in the total amount of One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($115,500.00) ("Settlement Sum") and execution of a Settlement Agreement and Release; and
WHEREAS, the Corporation Counsel deems it in the best interest of the City to resolve said matter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
The Corporation Counsel is hereby authorized on behalf of the City of Newark to enter into, execute, and accept the terms of the Settlement Agreement and Release, attached hereto.
Upon receipt by the Corporation Counsel of all documents deemed necessary, the Director of the Department of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to issue payment in the amount of One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($115,500.00) to White and Co Attorneys and Counselor, LLC at the address above.
