WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Engineering and review of the traffic operations by New Jersey Transit in conjunction with the City's Department of Engineering, Division of Traffic and Signals, and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-197(3)(a), the following described location is deleted as a bus stop:
DELETED BUS STOP:
1. In the Central Ward, along 14th Avenue, eastbound on the southerly side thereof:
Along 14th Avenue, eastbound on the southerly side thereof, at South 11th Street (nearside), beginning at the westerly curb line of South 11th Street and extending 105 feet westerly therefrom.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, a municipality may by ordinance, resolution or regulation designate, relocate or delete a bus stop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. In the Central Ward, the following described bus stop location be hereby deleted:
Along 14th Avenue, eastbound on the southerly side, at South 11th Street (nearside), beginning at the westerly curb line of South 11th Street and extending 105 feet westerly therefrom.
2. No Municipal funds need to be expended for this act.
3. There will be no amendment to this resolution without the approval of the Municipal Council.
4. Upon approval, the Acting Director of the Department of Engineering will forward a copy of this resolution to the Office of the City Clerk to notify them of the Local Government's approval for the deletion of a bus stop as stated.
