Mother's Day Festival and Street Fair to celebrate the Mothers in the Community, and will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the intersection of North 5th Street between Abington Street and Bloomfield Avenue, from the hours of 1:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide an essential service to the residents of Newark while also bringing attention and awareness to the extraordinary mothers that share their love, talents and affection to the community; and
WHEREAS, the Mother's Day Festival will provide the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups and organizations, while also providing vital services to individuals and family groups; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the Mother's Day Festival, Saturday, May 17, 2025, to be held at the intersection of North 5th Street between Abington Street and Bloomfield Avenue, from the hours of 1:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the Mother's Day Festival, Saturday, May 17, 2025.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fees ($600.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
