WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 54:5-19 et seq., any outstanding real property taxes, water and sewer charges and other municipal charges that remain in arrears on the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the current calendar year (2014), shall be subject to an "Accelerated Tax Sale" and offered for sale of lien at a Tax Sale to be conducted on or before December 23, 2014, and
WHEREAS, there are delinquencies on the books and records of the Tax Collector for unpaid 2014 Real Property Taxes, Water and Sewer Charges and other Municipal Charges, and
WHEREAS, the Administration and Acting Chief Financial Officer deem it necessary to hold an Accelerated Tax Sale for 2014 Real Property Taxes, Water and Sewer Charges and other municipal charges that remain unpaid on the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the current calendar year (2014). Said sale shall be conducted on or before December 23, 3014 and completed no later than December 31, 2014, with official notices of sale being advertised and notice sent to the owners of record pursuant to N.J.S.A. 54:5-19 et seq.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Tax Collector for the City of Newark, New Jersey or his/her designee, is hereby authorized to conduct an Accelerated Tax Sale for unpaid real property taxes, and other municipal charges assessed for the year 2014.
