WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $25,000.00 for to make progress toward reducing the community's energy use and greenhouse gas emissions; and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the same; and
WHEREAS, by a Notice of Award dated June 10, 2025, Sustainable Jersey-PSE&G Staffing & Community Engagement Grant Program awarded the City of Newark a PSE&G Energy Efficiency Partnership Program Grant in the amount of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($25,000.00) to provide funding to make progress toward reducing the community's energy use and greenhouse gas emissions; and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides that the Governing Body, by a two-thirds vote, may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose for which appropriations may lawfully be made for the period...
