Newark SAS received funding through the NJEDA FEED NJ Grant Program to expand access to fresh food and nutrition education in Newark. As a project partner, the City will receive $51,994.01 to support outreach, workshops, coordination, and data collection during the two year grant period.

WHEREAS, New Jersey Economic Development Authority (“NJEDA”) created Food Equity and Economic Development in New Jersey Grant Program (“FEED NJ”), a $30 million pilot program awarding grants between $50,000 and $500,000 for innovative projects that strengthen food access and food security in New Jersey's most acute Food Desert Communities and improve New Jersey residents' access to fresh, affordable, and healthy food; and
