WHEREAS, the New Jersey Transit's Bus Safety Department conducted an investigation for the proposed bus stop designation and found it acceptable as a bus stop; and
WHEREAS, at the request of the Department of Engineering and review of the traffic operations by New Jersey Transit in conjunction with the City's Department of Engineering, Division of Traffic and Signals, and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statues of New Jersey, the following described location is added as a bus stop:
ADD BUS STOP:
1. In the West Ward, along South Orange Avenue, westbound, on the northerly side thereof:
a. Longfellow Avenue, nearside.
Beginning at the easterly curb line of Longfellow Avenue and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-197(3)(a) of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, a municipality may by ordinance, resolution or regulation designate, relocate or delete a bus stop.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. In the West Ward, the following described location is hereby designated as a bus stop:
South Orange Avenue, westbound on the northerly side at Longfellow Avenue, nearside location. Beginning at the easterly curb line of Longfellow Avenue and extending 105 feet easterly therefrom.
2. No municipal funds expended for this act.
3. No amendment to this resolution without the approval of the Municipal Council...
