WHEREAS, the New Jersey Recreation & Park Association, 1 Wheeler Way, Princeton NJ 08540-5915 ("NJRPA"), the New Jersey Swim Safety Alliance ("NJSSA"), and Dolfin Swim Wear ("DSW") would like to donate one hundred (100) swimsuits and forty-eight (48) pairs of goggles to the City of Newark, thereby enabling children who do not have acceptable bathing attire to participate in aquatic sports; and

WHEREAS, said swimsuits and goggles have a value of approximately One Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($1,800.00); and

WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Recreation, Cultural Affairs & Senior Services ("Department") desires to accept the gift and to acknowledge the donation; and

WHEREAS, NJRPA, the NJSSA and DSW fully understand and agree that they are not entitled to receive any direct benefit from the City of Newark, Mayor Ras J. Baraka, or any other personnel affiliated with the City of Newark in exchange for the gift; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Local Public Contracts Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:5-29, a local unit is authorized and empowered to accept bequests, ...
