WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $157,459.61 for the Screen NJ Program Grant award, and no adequate provision has been made in the 2019 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose, and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the same; and
WHEREAS, by a Notice of Award dated December 20, 2018, the Rutgers, Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Rutgers Health, awarded the City of Newark the Screen NJ Program Grant in the amount of $157,459.61, to provide and improve screening rates and health outcomes for colorectal and lung cancer in New Jersey; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark's Department of Health and Community Wellness will be submitting an Apply and Accept Resolution under separate cover to the Newark Municipal Council for its consideration relative to said grant award; and
