Grant Funding Source is the State of New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and Economic Opportunity through the Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) to assist youth, adult and dislocated workers with significant barriers to employment, high quality jobs, and careers and to help employers hire and retain skilled workers.
No municipal funds, commitment of municipal resources, or staff are required for the receipt or acceptance of these grant funds.

WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and Economic Opportunity granted the City of Newark the following Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant (formerly Workforce Investment Act) through the Newark Workforce Development Board (NWDB), for Program Year 2021 (July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022) for adult, dislocated workers and youth; and
WHEREAS, the Program Year 2021 funds must be eighty (80% obligated by June 30, 2022 and it must be fully expended by June 30, 2023; and
WHEREAS, funds will be allocated as follows:
