WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in the Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of One Million Seven Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Twenty-Five Dollars and Zero Cents ($1,775,025.00), for Childhood Lead Exposure and Prevention (CLEP) Program, and no adequate provision has been made in the 2026 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose, and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by the Notice of letter dated July 1, 2026, the New Jersey Department of Health (“DOH”), awarded the City of Newark funds in the amount of One Million Seven Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Twenty-Five Dollars and Zero Cents. ($1,775,025.00). The aforementioned program will provide funds for the continued provision of medical care and supportive services in the City of Newark; and
