WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in the Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of Two Million Two Hundred Sixty Eight Thousand, Five Hundred Fourteen Dollars and Zero Cents ($2,268,514.00), for the provision of Supplemental Nutrition Services forWomen, Infants and Children (WIC) Program and no adequate provision has been made in the 2026 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by the Notice of Award dated October 10, 2025, the State of New Jersey, Department of Health, Division of Family Health Services awarded the City of Newark funds in the amount of Two Million Two Hundred Sixty Eight Thousand, Five Hundred Fourteen Dollars and Zero Cents ($2,268,514.00).
