AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23:2-1, ONE-WAY STREETS, OF TITLE 23, TRAFFIC AND PARKING, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, 2000, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED, BY AMENDING THE ONE-WAY STREET DESIGNATION OF EAST RUNYON STREET BETWEEN ELIZABETH AVENUE AND FRELINGHUYSEN AVENUE. WHEREAS, Ordinance 6S&FB, adopted March 19, 2008 designated East Runyon Street a one-way street, eastbound, between Elizabeth Avenue and Frelinghuysen Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Traffic and Signals desires to change the one-way designation of East Runyon Street from a one-way street, eastbound, between Elizabeth Avenue and Frelinghuysen Avenue to a one-way street, eastbound between Sherman Avenue and Frelinghuysen Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Traffic and Signals desires to change the one-way designation of East Runyon Street from a one-way street, eastbound, between Elizabeth Avenue and Sherman Avenue, to a two-way street between Elizabeth Avenue and Sherman Avenue; and
WHEREAS, these changes are needed for the construction of a 7-Eleven Store located on 234-240 Elizabeth Avenue; 2-8 East Runyon Street, also known as Block 2753, Lot 5, on the Official Tax Map for the City of Newark.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
Section 1. That Section 23:2-1, One-Way Streets, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by deleting therefrom the following:
East Runyon Street, eastbound, between Elizabeth Avenue and Frelinghuysen Avenue.
Section 2. That Section 23:2-1, One-Way Streets, of Title 23, Traffic and Parking, of the Revised General Ordinances of the City of Newark, New Jersey, 2000, as amended and supplemented, be amended by adding thereto the following:
