Whereas, the Hispanic residents of the City of Newark, New Jersey has played a major role in the productivity of this community; and
Whereas, the residents of the City of Newark is very fond of the accomplishments of this segment of the population; and
Whereas, Ramon Montalvo has devoted time, effort and self-sacrifice to help build on the Social, Health, Religious Welfare and Political Progress of this community; and
Whereas, the Newark Municipal Council wants to commemorate the progress made by Ramon Montalvo by designating street signage in his honor for all residents to enjoy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT
It does hereby authorize the naming of Lafayette Street and Mulberry Street as Ramon Montalvo Plaza for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
- Naming of Lafayette Street and Mulberry Street as Ramon Montalvo Plaza, for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
- The names of said streets shall remain Lafayette Street and Mulberry Street in their entirety.
