WHEREAS, on February 10, 2015, the City of Newark, through its Director of Purchasing, advertised to solicit bids for contractors to provide 2014 or Newer Chevrolet Tahoe 4 WD, 4 Door LTZ to the Newark Police Department through the Division of Motors, as per the proposal attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Central Purchasing distributed eleven (11) bid proposal packages to prospective vendors following the date of advertisement; and
WHEREAS, on February 26, 2015, four (4) bids were received in response to this advertisement; and
WHEREAS, the Manager of Motors and the Police Director reviewed the bids and recommended that an award be made to the lowest responsive responsible bidder, Day Chevrolet; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-24 the vendor agreed to hold its prices for 90 days from the bid receipt date; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A.19:44A-20.5 et seq., solicitations through public bidding in accordance with N.J.S.A.40A:11-1 et seq. meets the requirements of the fair and open process.
