WHEREAS, the City of Newark's Department of Health and Community Wellness identifies and remediates housing-related health and safety hazards in privately owned, low-income rental or owner-occupied housing containing families with children, adults aged sixty-two (62) years and older, or families with persons with disabilities; and

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), has made grant funds available for the provision of such services through the Healthy Homes Production Grant Program; and
