AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR VARIOUS IMPROVEMENTS, BY AND IN THE CITY OF NEWARK, IN THE COUNTY OF ESSEX, STATE OF NEW JERSEY AND APPROPRIATING $7,383,664.00, FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND.

WHEREAS, the City of Newark, in the County of Essex, State of New Jersey (the "City"), wishes to undertake various capital improvements; and
WHEREAS, the cost of said improvements or purposes is estimated to be $7,383,664.00; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to authorize the appropriation and expenditure of$7,383,664.00 from the Capital Improvement Fund of the City for the purpose of undertaking various capital improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
SECTION 1. The capital improvements or purposes described in Section 2 of this Capital Ordinance are hereby authorized as general capital improvements to be undertaken by the City. For the said improvements or purposes, there are hereby appropriated the amount of $7,383,664.00 from the Capital Improvement Fund of the City to fund the total cost.
SECTION 2. The capital expenditures authorized by this Capital Ordinance are as follows:
1. Elevator Repair and Replacement for Municipal Buildings City Wide
Estimated Cost: $2,500,000.00
2. Upgrades to TV Studio and Council Chambers
Estimated Cost: $1,103,664.00
3. Street Resurfacing City Wide
Estimated Cost: $1,000,000.00
4. Body Worn Camera and in-car Axon System
Estimated Cost: $1,580,000.00
5. 911 Zentron System
Estimated Cost: $1,200,000.00
SECTION 3. The expenditures of the $7,383,664.00, consisting of an appropriation of $7,383,664.00 from the Capital Improvement Fund of the City for the improvements or purposes set forth in Section 2 hereof, is hereby authorized and approved.
