WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of $281,693.00, for the Metropolitan Medical Response System Program and no adequate provision has been made in the 2012 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by award letter dated November 30, 2011, from the State of New Jersey Office of Homeland Security Preparedness, the City of Newark has been awarded $281,693.00 to provide these grant funds to continue its emergency preparedness through planning, training, equipment acquisition and exercising in order to respond to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosive (CBRNE) eve...
