WHEREAS, an emergency has arisen in the Special Item of Appropriation in the amount of Seventy-Eight Thousand Nine Hundred Five Dollars and Fifty-Four Cents ($78,905.54) for the Purchase of Tablets for the Arson Unit and Bureau and no adequate provision has been made in the 2023 Temporary Budget for the aforesaid purpose and N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20 provides for the creation of an emergency appropriation for the purpose above-mentioned; and
WHEREAS, by the Notice of Award dated April 4, 2023, the United States Department of Homeland Security awarded the City of Newark funds for $78,905.54. The aforementioned program will provide funds for purchase of Tablets for the Arson Unit and Bureau; and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-20 provides that the Governing Body, by a two-thirds vote, may make temporary emergency appropriations for any purpose for which appropriations may lawfully be made for the pe...
