WHEREAS, Ordinance 6PSF-f, adopted on May 20, 2015, authorizes the designation of an intersection, etc., for honorary and ceremonial purposes; and

WHEREAS, Fredrica Bey is a lifelong Newark resident, community leader, entrepreneur, educator, and activist whose decades of service have left an indelible mark on the City of Newark and beyond. Born and raised in Newark's historic Third Ward alongside her nine siblings, she attended Newark Public Schools before continuing her education at Essex County College and later studying Business Administration at Kean University from 1972 to 1975; and

WHEREAS, Fredrica began her professional career with the Newark Board of Education's Title I Program, where she served as an administrator from 1980 to 1990. In 1990, she became a licensed Realtor and quickly distinguished herself as one of New Jersey's top-performing real estate professionals, earning numerous awards and recognition as a leading seller throughout the state. She worked as a Residential and Commercial Real Estate Broker from 1990 to 2009 and continues to serve the industry today as a Referral Agent; and
