The grant funding source is the State of New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development through the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) to assist youth, adult, and dislocated workers with significant barriers to employment, high quality jobs, and careers and to help employers hire and retain skilled workers.
Eighty (80%) percent of grant funds must be obligated by June 30, 2025 and all funds fully expended by June 30, 2026.

WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development ("NJDOL") has awarded the City of Newark {"City") Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant funds in the total amount of Six Million Two Hundred Thirty-Four Thousand Eight Hundred Seventeen Dollars and Zero Cents ($6,234,817,00) for Program Year 2024 (July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025); and
WHEREAS, the Program Year 2024 funds must be eighty percent (80%) obligated by June 30, 2025 and all funds fully expended by June 30, 2026; and
