WHEREAS; the Reverend Peter Johnson, Sr. had devoted time, effort and self sacrifice to help build on the Social, Health, Religious Welfare and Political Progress of the Newark community; and
WHEREAS, the Newark Municipal Council wants to commemorate the progress made by Reverend Peter Johnson, Sr. of this community by designating street signage in his honor for all residents to enjoy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. It does hereby authorize the naming of Clinton Avenue and Ridgewood Avenue as Reverend Peter Johnson Sr., Plaza for honorary and ceremonial purposes.
2. The names of said streets shall remain Clinton Avenue and Ridgewood Avenue in their entirety.
