WHEREAS, the Municipal Council is supportive of community events that provide wholesome family entertainment and education that allows residents the opportunity to gather and renew old acquaintances an establish new ones; and
WHEREAS, the National Night Out provides the City of Newark the perfect opportunity to collaborate with various support groups and organizations, the City's Department of Public Safety, families and friends that reside within the City and its communities; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council has indicated its support of the National Night Out will be held on Madison Avenue between South 18th and South 16th Streets (South Ward), from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, THAT:
1. The Municipal Council does hereby indicate its support of the National Night Out, which will be held on Madison Avenue between South 18th and South 16th Streets (South Ward), from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
2. The Municipal Council is co-sponsoring this special event and waives the City of Newark's Special Event Permit Application Fee ($50.00), however, it does not waive insurance coverage requirements due to be provided by event organizers or costs above service charges described in R.O. 5:10-1 et seq.
