WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey, Department of Labor and Workforce Development granted the City of Newark $242,000.00 in Workforce Learning Link funds, through the Newark Workforce Development Board (NWDB), for State Fiscal Year 2018, (July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018); and
WHEREAS, no application was required for the City of Newark to apply for the grant; and
WHEREAS, this is an annual grant allocation from the State of New Jersey, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and must be used in accordance to guidelines stated in the Notice of Award (NOA), consistent with the NWDB's strategic direction, and must be incorporated into the Newark Workforce Development Area contract; and
WHEREAS, these grant funds must be obligated by June 30, 2018 and fully expended by December 31, 2018; and
WHEREAS, no municipal funds, or commitment of municipal resources or staff are required for the receipt or acceptance of these grant funds; and
