WHEREAS, on February 23, 2021, the Municipal Council of Belleville, New Jersey adopted a Resolution authorizing the execution of a contract with the City of Newark for the supply of potable water for the period of August 1, 2020 through July 31, 2030; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 7R12-a, adopted by the City of Newark Municipal Council on May 5, 2021, authorized the Director of the City of Newark's Department of Water and Sewer Utilities to enter into and execute a contract with the Township of Belleville for the supply of potable water for the period of August 1, 2020 through July 31, 2030; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newark and the Township of Belleville entered into a contract, dated February 23, 2021, for the supply of potable water by the City of Newark to the Township of Belleville for the period of August 1, 2020 through July 31, 2030; and
WHEREAS, the Parties desire to enter into this Amendment No. 1 to the February 23, 2021 Water Contract Between the Township of Belleville and the City of Newark, at the request of the Township of Belleville, to increase the amount of water supplied by the City of Newark from 4.2 MGD (four million, two hundred thousand gallons per day) to 6.0 MGD...
